Self Portrait 2014

This is my face as of right now. I tried to approach digital painting as if I was working traditionally. It actually made it a bit easier.

EDIT: I made some changes based on the critique I got on my portrait.

Dark Watcher

oh hey so I made a gif over break inspired by the legend of the Dark Watchers. I just realized that you could upload gifs to blogger. I don't know why but for some reason I didn't think it was possible? Also sorry about me being way too lazy to edit out my tumblr url.

Animal and Wildlife

This is what I presented for my final in my animal and wildlife class. All drawings (with the except of the bottom two motion studies) are from life, from the various field trips the class took over the semester. The motion studies are from video.

Bat

Here's one of my school projects from the past semester. I'm going to try and upload the projects that I don't hate over the next few days. This was a project from fairly early in the semester were we had to design an animal in Polynesian style. I chose a bat.

doodles

I know I haven't posted to the blog in a while, the semester was crazy stressful and busy for me and I have literally spent the past two weeks doing absolutely nothing! Now I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. These are just some doodles I did tonight (technically yesterday now). I'm trying to get better at character design since I feel like a lot of my designs look a little too same-ish. I started out with the two at the bottom, trying to challenge myself by humanizing some Muppets since they are very shape oriented. Not sure if I succeeded, but I like them regardless.
